"The solution is cutting edge and the user experience is killer. We are leap-frogging the competition with this app. The industry has never experienced an app like this." - Tom Pierce, Systems Architect Vice President - Comdata
As Lead UI/UX Designer for Comdata Fleet Advance, I was responsible for user flows, wireframes, mockups, and design presentations. I worked closely with project managers, business analysts, and developers to build a complex solution that doesn't feel complex for the user.
Problem: Comdata fleet drivers needed a reliable, easy-to-use mobile app to assist in finding affordable fuel and help them make informed, easy choices when planning their routes.
Strategy: After compiling an exhaustive competitive analysis, I created user flows and wireframes to present concepts internally, as well as to the client. Upon receiving feedback from stakeholders, I iterated on the solution until we felt we had created the most optimal experience for our target users.
Process: This was an Agile project with 3-week sprints. For each sprint, I compiled my wireframes, hi-res mockups, and development specs into detailed documents.
Solution: Comdata Fleet Advance is available in Apple and Android app stores. It has been downloaded by 20,000+ users. Using this app, drivers can view recommended stops in map and list views, add money to fleet cards, view fuel stop details, and even rate the stops as they go.

Problem: Erie Insurance was beginning to build a new auto quote tool for their desktop website when they brought PointSource in to consult and educate on mobile design strategy and patterns.
Strategy: For the first phase of this project, I worked closely with another UX designer as mobile strategists. We presented Erie stakeholders with mobile best practices and design patterns in order to ramp up their knowledge of mobile. For the remainder of this project, my role was Lead UI Designer, and I created hi-res mockups, presentations, and development specs.
Process: When a user visits Erie's website to receive a quote for auto insurance, they go through a simple five step process in which they enter basic information about the policyholder, drivers, and vehicles. We worked closely with business analysts at Erie to streamline required content and make the process as intuitive and painless as possible for the user, while still allowing Erie to collect all the information needed to give accurate, adjustable quotes. The user is able to adjust fields within the quote in order to see all cost options.
Solution: This work can be viewed on Erie's website on mobile and tablet devices.

For more than a year, I was UI/UX Designer for multiple creative collaborations with Allstate Dealer Services, a subsidiary of Allstate. I worked closely with business analysts and marketing specialists to formulate content strategy and visual design for a responsive redesign of the ADS website. Ultimately, the site was not built, but the experience gave me valuable insight into long-term client relationships.
Also during that time period, I served as Lead UI Designer on Agent Central—a sales resource available exclusively to ADS agents. Using only one tablet app, agents can organize leads, import contact information, build presentations, and disseminate marketing materials. It is currently available for Android and iOS devices.

MasterMind is a PointSource product that allows businesses to track employee hours, manage resources, and forecast revenue. Features of this robust, responsive experience include detailed calendar views, customizable widgets, and comprehensive reporting tools.
For this project, I have served as Lead UI Designer and co-UX Designer. The project is still in progress.

This pitch included strategy and UX/UI design for Erie's mobile customer app. The features of this app would be a real game changer for Erie customers who are looking for faster communication with their insurance provider.

While at PointSource, I had the opportunity to create mockups for a luxury suite app that was then pitched to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In this concept, users would be able to view and add amenities to their suite directly from a tablet. Other features include customer service access and alerts for special deals, renewals, or upcoming events.

PointSource presented American Airlines with some ideas on streamlining the user experience for booking flights on a tablet. These screens represent the idea of a multi-step process with a progress indicator and highly tappable interaction patterns.

UL University, a division of Underwriters Laboratories, is dedicated to safety training for engineers and technicians in a variety of fields. For the training facility in Research Triangle Park, NC, I led a small design team comprised of N.C. State students and graduates. We wanted to convey a sense of modernity and progress (the UL Mark is seen on 20 billion products worldwide), while also paying homage to the rich history of UL.
Finding that balance between corporate branding standards and progressive design, we created large-scale wallpaper graphics, photo collages, banners, signage, and information graphics for the space.

Zoom Raleigh, a 3D interactive installation, allowed viewers to interact with digital media related to the arts, architecture, and culture of Raleigh, NC. Viewers were able to manipulate the digital model by rotating the city itself, selecting buildings of interest, and interacting with narrated slideshows of historical photographs. For this project, sponsored by the City of Raleigh, Raleigh Arts Council, and Empire Properties, I conducted interviews with local historians and assembled slideshows to accompany the interactive 3D model of Raleigh built by Stacie McGowan Cox.

I was part of a team that organized and designed a hunt for QR-stamped acorn signs hidden around downtown Raleigh. For each AQRN a participant scanned, CENTERLINE DIGITAL made a donation to Rebuild Raleigh for tornado relief.
Twelve AQRNs were hidden across Downtown Raleigh. Participants scanned each code using their phones, and a site was built for registration and tracking.
